Are you a goal seeking missile with plenty of energy and endless new ideas? Or, do you wait for things to happen and be given to you on a plate? Or, do you wake up in the morning and think – Oh – look what’s happened!
There are so many types of people on this wonderful planet of ours. Some are born leaders and some, necessarily, have to be followers. Some are what is referred to as ‘prime movers’. Which are you? Frankly, whatever type you are you would do well to take some time out and listen to several of the great speakers out there who can, with their words, help you to craft out the present and future that you are seeking.
A motivational speaker will often get the audience totally wound up into a frenzy. They will challenge their belief systems, fronting up all sorts of psychological tricks to encourage their minds into the belief that, whatever the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve, and that the universe will support everything a positive attitude can dream up.
They are encouraged to practice the words of Van Gogh – ‘I dream my painting and then I paint my dream’. They are encouraged to immerse the mind in visualisations and embed them with affirmations in real time as though they were real now. They help bring the future into the present for so many people to help them achieve their dreams.
But, for many people, they produce what is known as ‘hot bed motivation’. As soon as the seminar or whatever platform is used to develop the message is withdrawn so the motivation dies and the people go back into their slumber and back into their ruts. It is very difficult to change people other than by things like religious conversion or brain surgery! But, for those that really want to change, the motivational speak might just come up with one small idea which will totally change that person’s life – if they believe it will.
